Shield Finance to Offer Market Crash Protection on $SHLD Token
SHLD token holders and liquidity providers can start protecting and earning with Shield Finance shortly after IDO
Shield Finance will implement Market Crash Protection for traders of the $SHLD token after public IDO and Uniswap listing.
We have heard our followers and supporters loud and clear. When it comes to DeFi insurance protection the number one request we hear constantly is for price crash protection. So, the team at Shield Finance created Market Crash Protection and we are going to launch it for our own token $SHLD.
Here is a brief description to how Market Crash Protection works:
Market Crash Protection, once purchased, allows a trader to sell a token at a guaranteed price stated in the MCP before the contract expires. If the market price goes below the guaranteed price, the traders can simply sell their tokens into the MCP contract & recover their losses. There will be multiple MCP contracts for each token with different guaranteed prices and different expiration dates — so the traders can choose which one they want to use.
In order to pay the traders if the price goes down, Market Crash Protection relies on liquidity providers. When they deposit money into the MCP contract, they receive protection tokens, which they can sell for a premium.
Shield rewards liquidity providers for absorbing the sell pressure via two mechanisms: Premium + Super-Yield:
- Premium is the “active money” that liquidity providers receive for selling protection to traders.
- Super-Yield is the “passive money” that liquidity providers receive by forwarding their deposits from a Market Crash Protection contract into a Yearn Vault.
For $SHLD traders we will open the MCP contract for the $SHLD token at a guaranteed price of 0.0103 with an expiry of 3 months.
